Challenge
Polluted rivers, rural and urban spaces
Strategy
Mobilizing masses
Impact
236,930 people benefited
Overview
According to sources, more than half of India’s rivers are polluted. Major cities, towns, and villages also experience major lapses in hygiene and cleanliness. With our large volunteer base, we have initiated drives to clean river Yamuna in the North, river Pampa, and ponds in Kerala. Cleanliness drives in rural and urban areas have brought communities together, made these spaces more hygienic and in some cases, driven away major diseases.
The core strategy of our cleanliness drives is conducting community-building workshops and awareness campaigns which galvanize communities into action.
Over the years, we have conducted more than 43,900 cleanliness drives in urban and rural areas which have benefited 236,930 people
The two main reasons for lack of hygiene are the aggressive and depressive tendency. To come out of these two tendencies, we need to fill people with confidence that they can take this country to great heights.
